Our Managing Director, Quentin Marshall, a previous winner of Spear’s UK Private Banker of the Year, is named on its ‘Top Flight’ list, the index’s highest-ranking list. Quentin, who oversees the two core businesses of the Bank – our Private and Racing banks – has had an illustrious private banking career having previously worked at Coutts and UBS Wealth Management, where he helped to create its Family Office.
A vocal advocate for empowering women in finance, Shirley Coe makes the list for the second consecutive year having joined Weatherbys in late 2021. Shirley is a senior banker who specialises in an array of financial services including mortgage lending, investment and wealth advice. She is currently spearheading our new initiative, WeatHERbys Inspires, to ensure our female audience is valued and understood.
Ollie Barnett, with more than 15 years of experience in the wealth industry and who is at the forefront of the Private Bank’s London team also makes the list again. He advises his clients across the spectrum of their banking needs, from complex financing scenarios through to their investment portfolio strategies. Before turning to the world of finance, Ollie served as an officer in the British Army (Scots Guards), where he honed analytical and interpersonal skills that have held him in good stead for a career in banking.
Meanwhile, two of our private bankers north of the border retain their top 500 places. Duncan Gourlay, who heads Weatherbys Private Bank in Scotland, advises clients ranging from entrepreneurs to established professionals and landowners. Before joining Weatherbys in 2013, Duncan worked at Barclays Wealth, Bank of Scotland and Adam and Co. He is joined on the list by former Rising Star award winner Hayley Robinson, who provides bespoke and personalised advice to clients on banking, lending and investment-related requirements from our Edinburgh office.
Finally, our Chief Executive Officer, Roger Weatherby, again features among the best ultra-high-net-worth wealth managers.
Spear’s 500 is an independent guide to the most trusted advisers and service providers to HNWs. It is published by Spear’s, a wealth management and luxury lifestyle magazine, described as a cross between Forbes and Vanity Fair. It is created for the affluent financial services community, including the bankers, lawyers and family offices who advise the wealthy. Weatherbys Private Bank was named UK Private Bank of the Year by Spears in 2021, an award that recognises those banks that have delivered outstanding service and performance for HNW individuals.
