Having joined Weatherbys Private Bank in 2017 as a Private Banking Assistant, Patrick has exemplified dedication, hard work, and enthusiasm throughout his career, working his way up to the position he now finds himself. Based in our London office, Patrick serves a diverse client base, including city professionals, entrepreneurs, and landowners across the country. As a passionate racing enthusiast, he plays an integral role within our industry-leading Landed Estates team and is also a key member of the banking team for the Event Horse Owners Association (EHOA).
Patrick made history as the Bank’s first Associate Private Banker to complete the fast-track programme and qualify as a Private Banker. In addition to managing his client portfolio, Patrick is actively involved in several initiatives to generate new business. Notably, he has been instrumental in leading our successful internship programme, which continues to go from strength to strength.
The eight-week internship offers participants comprehensive exposure to Weatherbys, encompassing areas such as day-to-day banking, public market equities, qualifying corporate bond portfolios and yield curve analysis. Last year, the programme attracted over 1,800 applications and several former interns now work as full-time members of our team.
Patrick, who thrives on building lasting relationships and supporting clients through complex financial decisions, shares: “I love helping clients solve their financial challenges. One day, I might assist a US law firm partner in creating a cash flow forecast for a secure retirement, and the next, help a landed estate sell a parcel of land and structure the investment of the proceeds for future generations. It’s incredibly rewarding.”
Oliver Barnett, Head of Private Clients at Weatherbys Private Bank, adds: “This is a richly deserved accolade and a testament to Patrick’s dedication and hard work. Patrick’s impact extends beyond his client-facing role — for example, he played a pivotal part in revamping our internship programme. We’re excited to see how Patrick continues to contribute to the growth and evolution of our business for future generations.”
