Meet Hannah Law, our new private banker helping our Scotland office expand its presence

Hannah Law joins Weatherbys as a Private Banker, previously having spent 10 years at CitiBank in their professional services division. We caught up with Hannah to discuss banking, entrepreneurs, and what’s next for Weatherbys Private Bank in Scotland.

Having grown up just outside of Glasgow, Hannah Law has joined Weatherbys as a Private Banker in our Edinburgh office. We caught up with Hannah, who spent 10 years at Citi, latterly working for its professional services division, to find out what is next for Weatherbys in Scotland.

Hannah joins the Edinburgh office as our presence in Private Banking space in Scotland continues to build momentum. In 2024, we opened an additional office just two doors away from our first office based in Rutland Square to meet our growing needs. It is a beautiful Georgian townhouse made of traditional stone buildings that retain many of the original features and there are several artworks on display by Scottish artists such as Henry Kondraki and Elizabeth Blackadder.

Hannah becomes our fourth Private Banker in Edinburgh, working with Duncan Gourlay, Private Client Director, and Private Bankers Hayley Robinson and Graeme Buchanan. Our insurance business Weatherbys Hamilton also operates from the Bank’s office in Rutland Square.

“It is a very exciting time to be joining Weatherbys with its focus on expanding the brand in Scotland. My primary aim is to help increase brand awareness and attract new clients in Edinburgh and the surrounding cities. I’ll be seeking referrals through our existing network, but I’ll also be looking to build relationships with professional groups” says Hannah.

Our clients include everyone from professionals, young entrepreneurs and small business owners to traditional landowners in the far reaches of Scotland. As our office enters its second decade, we will look to pursue growth opportunities by attracting clients living in Scottish cities beyond Edinburgh.

Hannah is already looking forward to building a rapport with clients and working with them over time to help them fulfil their financial goals. “One of Weatherbys’ strengths is building strong client relationships and becoming their trusted adviser,” says Hannah. “I want to grow with clients. I want to help them on their financial journey from the start – from buying a house to putting their children through school. It’s an area of private banking that I’m particularly passionate about.”
